The Rise of Skywalker cleaning up Rians Mess (NON-SPOILERS)
After the abysmal film that was The Last Jedi, I went into The Rise of Skywalker pessimistic. But regardless I wanted to see the movie because I am a Star Wars fan and I wanted to give my honest opinion on it. So after renting it on prime video and watching it. To my surprise, I loved the movie. It was entertaining, fast-paced, and action-packed. Most importantly it felt like I was watching a Star Wars movie. It was back to being a space adventure movie about good vs evil. The Last Jedi, while a Star Wars movie, felt more like a miserable nightmare. Rian Johnson, the director of The Last Jedi, subverted expectations, didn't answer any questions, and disrespected the saga. JJ Abrams came in and cleaned up the mess after The Last Jedi.We get our heroes back working together in Rey, Poe, Finn, C3P0, BB8, and Chewie. We learn about Rey and why she is strong with the force. We finally also get to see her train with Leia. It was also great to see Rey have an internal struggle with figuring out who she is and where she fits in the galaxy. It made her character seem more human. Kylo Ren continues to be the best part of the sequel trilogy. The scenes with him and Rey are the best parts of the movie. We also get more back story with Poe and Finn. C3P0 and Chewie also really get there moments to shine in the movie. Luke Skywalker is back to being the optimistic mentor who respects his father's lightsaber again. I thought they did a great job of handling with Leia after Carrie Fischer passed away. Seeing Lando again was also a nice touch. And the new characters that get introduced (like Zorri Bliss, Babu Frik, Jannah, and General Pryde) are also really good additions to the story. Emperor Palpatine was pretty cool as well. A lot of his senses felt like something out of a Horror movie. The visual effects were outstanding. Especially in the space battle scenes. The lightsaber fight scenes were intense as well. I thought the movie had a nice and fitting conclusion to the trilogy. The only issues I had with the movie was the Nights of Ren were underutilized. I would have like to see more of who they are and a bit of there origin. There were some other minor issues here and there but it didn't stop me from liking the movie.Overall, I loved Star Wars The Rise of Skywalker. It was nice to have JJ Abrams come in a finish what he started with The Force Awakens. As someone who was personally disappointed with The Last Jedi, Rise of Skywalker really helped patch things up for me. I commend JJ Abrams for doing so. (You could even watch Force Awakens and Rise of Skywalker back to back while plucking out The Last Jedi completely.) I find it ironic critics bashed this movie But loved The Last Jedi 😒. But as you can see in the audience scores above the fans say differently. And I have to side with fans on this one. This movie and The Mandalorian have reinvigorated my faith in Star Wars. I am looking forward to seeing what comes next.Overall score: 9/10

The Collection Is Now Complete!
The problem with streaming the shows I watch on my 85-inch monitor is that I lose track of what physical media I have. I was looking through my collection of discs and realized that I never purchased STAR WARS: THE RISE OF SKYWALKER. This was quite the scandal, at least in my mind. I immediately went online to order the disc. I received it within a couple of days and popped it into my Xbox One S to view on the big screen. I am not going to review the movie. It's Star Wars and one of the Third Trilogy that has plenty of controversy surrounding it but there is some good stuff in this movie. I am a completist though and so I had to order it. The package comes with a standard Blu-Ray disc, a 4K Blu-Ray disc, and a digital code for streaming the movie. The 4K image is fantastic and the sound quality in my 5.1 surround system was as I expected it to be. The important thing is that the disc was sealed, in perfect condition when received, and I got it super fast after ordering it. What more do you want?Pros:- Sealed and in mint condition on receipt.- It's Star Wars!- Blu-Ray and 4K Blu-Ray discs.- Digital code to watch on YouTube and other streaming services.- Excellent price.- Fast shipping included!Cons:- It's a Third Trilogy movie, but you get what you get.

You know a movies good when it leaves you wanting more
I saw the first Star Wars when I was 14 - it was wonderful - it left me looking for more - as did the whole first trilogy - the second set had me concerned - and when they finally came out with the final trilogy, I had already prepped my 9 year old son to by watching the entire series with - only to watch him ball his eyes out at Kylo Ren's patricide - so we waited patiently and saw every film there after - pretty much not liking any of them except for Solo -So our hopes weren't very high - my son - now 13 was ready to see Disney flip on the dark side again -Instead we were really pleased with this movie - it made us wonder what the hell they were thinking over the last 6 years - this movie really does capture the fun and adventure of the original trilogy - it also explores the force and good and evil in a more nuanced less 2 dimensional way with Adam Driver sort of finally having a character that's a bit more 3 dimensional - the main villain - was also writ in 3-D - the only think that was a major negative in the movie is that it didn't leave you with what ends up happening later in life with the main young characters - which is sort of sad and hopefully will be covered in a future film -When Lucas first envisioned the final 3 series - the restoration of the Republic and the development of the characters in that restoration was what was going to be focused on - it seemed like a poor idea for a three part series - but it sure would've been nice to have a single movie as such - so we can see what happens to these young heroes
