Easy to use and maintain; effective cleaning performance
I couldn’t decide between the corded Hyrovac and the corded Bissell Crosswave until I saw a head-to-head comparison video of the two on Vacuum Wars. The key points that swayed my decision to the Hydrovac were the much easier filter cleaning, the easier self-cleaning, the better/smoother swivel action, and the fact that, despite less raw power, the effective cleaning ability was a draw between the two. Add to that the much lower price for the Hydrovac and the decision was easy.So far I’ve been very pleased with this. It’s easy to use, does a very nice job on tile floors, and is easy to maintain. The cons for me are mostly along the lines of build quality issues. For example, the filter holder is not all that sturdy, so you need to take care when opening it to not break the plastic tabs. But, I have two other Shark vacs, and while they both have some less than ideal build quality issues, neither has failed on me yet. So I’m hoping for an equally long life from this Hydrovac. You can use other cleaners in this provided they are low/no suds. The Shark cleaner works well, but it’s quite pricey. There are other equally good cleaners from Hoover, Bissell and commercial cleaners (such as Ludmark) that cost less per use and work just fine in the Hydrovac. You don’t want to use an acidic cleaner (such as vinegar) or any cleaner that has suds since those will damage the water pump in the Hydrovac. It’s well worth picking up a spare set of filters and rollers. While the roller gets pretty well cleaned in the self-clean cycle, it’s still worth giving it a good hand wash. Plus, it’s not recommended to store the machine with a wet roller or wet filter to prevent mold/mildew. If you have spares you can swap out the wet ones for dry ones, and let the wet ones air dry.The Hydrovac has cut down on my cleaning time without any decrease in how clean the floors get. That’s worth five stars in my book!

This thing is so good, it’s stupid!!!
OK floors of my job I like a mop, but I can’t stand the dirty water and all the other cleaners to me looked either silly or overpriced. Always had a great experience with the shark decided to try the machine. It is awesome and I mean it really really awesome and the great part of it is it’s so light and you think that it can’t possibly do the job you wanted to do And you floors come out great because the water is kept apart overtime. I believe the flows becoming cleaner with each cleaning I think it’s a great value for the money. I think it’s light and easy to use. I think it does a great ! The only criticism I have is I wish it had like a scrub mode where you can choose to have a little bit more torque and pressure. But I can understand how manufacturers are reluctant to do that.

Constantly shuts off
The media could not be loaded. 3.25.24 update. I am changing review to 1 star. The dirty water tank is empty and clean as is the filter. Keeps shutting off saying tank is full. Saw this on a few reviews from others as well. No support from the company to get it repaired. So I guess I will sit on it until the manufacturers warranty expires and then file claim through the extended warranty I got on Amazon to get a Amazon credit for what I paid for it. What a waste of money and what a horrible company to not stand behind their product.I just got this and had to try it out. The pic with the dogs is after using a Swiffer wet jet. The other pic is after using the Shark and letting it dry. It is shining and streak free. The amount of dirt that came up was absolutely gross. It will take a little trial and error to determine how much solution to spray. The self cleaning mode after was great as the dirt that came out of the roller was a lot. It is now fresh on the base ready for next use.I did use a water/vinegar/Dawn mix instead of the provided chemicals. Much cheaper and always dries streak free. With four dogs I prefer to not use chemicals. Not a negative on the product because I knew this when I purchased it, but it would be nice if the solution and dirty water tanks were a bit larger. I have LVT flooring in my entire house so it had to be emptied a few times during the cleaning process and the solution tank had to be refilled once.Bottom line, mop simply swirl the dirt around on your floor and pick up very little. The shark vacuums up what it is cleaning. This leaves a nice clean floor at the end.
