Much better than non stick.
Thought I'd wait a while before posting.Got fed up with non stick Wok's 'wearing out' over time. So decided to go Stainless instead.This is a great WOK. Superb quality. Not cheap, thin & flimsy. Weight is also manageable. Easy to cook with & clean & you CAN use a scourer (if required) without fear of damage but TBH not had to use more than a dish brush on it to date.Still luvin it a year later with no sign of it ever wearing out. lol

Need to be thicker!
I was looking for a quality stainless Wok for a while hoping it would be the last. Then, I found this. I knew Scanpan has a quite good reputation for quality and found there were very positive reviews. Therefore I bought this with a huge discount. However after I received it and even used it, I was rather disappointed. One thing I really have to say is that the stainless is very thin except the bottom. Consequently, heat does not spread evenly throughout the wok. If you preheat the bottom properly, the wall side becomes overheated. It makes ingredients stuck to the wok very easily and the surface of wok burnt easily. I have used stainless pans for a few years but I have not had this problem. Despite of these, I kept it just because I bought it with almost half price. That's it. In the end, I had to buy one more wok, WMF Chef edition. It is much much better than Scanpan. I don't want to recommend this wok if you are looking for a high quality wok.

Excellent quality - far better than non-stick versions.
My last Scanpan was non-stick steel - the non-stick came off as the pan has to reach high temperatures not suited to non-stick. Thi pan is stainless and can easily be cleaned - comes up nice and clean. You get what you pay for!

Super pan
Exceeded all expectations. Like many I suspect I became tired of purchasing so called woks at the supermarkets only to ditch them twelve months later. This is the answer, don't hesitate, get one.

Perhaps designed for an electric hob? Not suitable for gas
S Park’s review is entirely accurate. Despite the solid base, the sides are far too thin on this wok. With a standard-sized wok flame on a gas hob over the past two years of use I have consistently found that the scanpan wok results in one of two outcomes: (1) if the base is suitably hot for stir frying, the sides burn everything immediately due to being much thinner and therefore much hotter: (2) if I’ve managed to keep the sides cool enough to not burn everything, the base becomes a lukewarm liquid soak - moisture gathers there and doesn’t evaporate off, resulting in soggy food: the exact opposite of the intended outcome when cooking with a wok.It occurred to me when cooking this evening that this pan may be designed for an electric hob, where I can see that the solid base would provide good central heat with the sides allowing for some spread.Wouldn’t recommend if you’re cooking on gas. A basic Ken Hom (and indeed an old ikea wok when I was a student) have served me (far) better on gas.Aesthetically it is very attractive. Very good shine on the stainless steel and it has maintained that over a number of years. A shame it hasn’t lived up to my expectations - my Scanpan Fusion 5 28cm sauté pan is absolutely fantastic to cook on with amazing heat retention and dispersal.

Stainless steel wok
I prefer using stainless steel utensils and this wok met all my expectations. A healthier option when cooking a Chinese meal.

Quality construction
I’ve only used it twice so far to make fried rice, but I really love it! It was easy to clean and I look forward to using it for stir fry soon

Very nice wok
Meets all expectations. Heats quickly enough and works fine. Like any stainless steel pan will stick if heat too high but follow instructions to get right temperature and has not been an issue for me at all. Cleans easily and looks great - has not discoloured or scratched up after a couple of months occasional use

A great Wok for an Induction Stove.
I just installed an induction cooktop and need a new Wok. This unit is great. It is very solid and has a large heated area so that I can now sear meat for my Chinese cooking with ease. Nicely made and easy to clean - all good.
