Perfect for Dairy-Intolerant, Refluxy Babies
Great for my dairy-intolerant, refluxy baby! This formula provides the extra calories she needs and eliminates the need for separate vitamin D drops. She has no problem taking it on its own, but since I still produce some breastmilk, I mix the two.I also love that it’s eligible for a 15% discount through the baby registry, who doesn’t love saving on specialty formulas?

Expensive but the Best Formula for Reflux and Sensitive Tummies
This was the only formula that worked for my daughter. I think we tried at least 10 different formulas before settling on Nutramigen. My baby had pretty severe reflux and milk protein intolerance to the point where she would spit up at least half her bottle with every feeding. It was incredibly stressful trying to find something that she would keep down. Nutramigen didn't completely get rid of her spit up but it definitely lessened and we never had any of the constipation problems that we had with the other sensitive formulas. We also tried the Similac version of this (Alimentum) and that didn't help as much as Nutramigen. My daughter was finally able to sleep peacefully without the grunting or gargling in her throat. She even rarely spit up at night so we got to stop worrying about her spitting up in her crib. This stuff is definitely costly but again, it is worth it. Being able to buy it in "bulk" on Amazon helps with the cost as well. Only rarely could we find it cheaper anywhere else and that was only because of some kind of promotion and coupons (sign up with Enfamil and they'll send you coupons).

An absolute life saver.
My wife and I had all kinds of issues with our baby when we first brought her home. Whether we had her on breast milk or formula, she was continually vomiting after eating. Not only was she vomiting, but she was incredibly uncomfortable. After every feeding she would squirm and cry, and there would be audible rumbling from her stomach. We saw the doctor several times about the problem and had two different medications prescribed. One did nothing, and the other helped only minimally. It mitigated the squirming, crying, and belly noises, but did nothing to help with the vomiting. One night we were at the end of our rope, and I went and bought some Nutramigen. It is formulated for babies with an allergy to cow's milk (although we are still not entirely sure that is her issue).Man...this stuff made a difference. Her vomiting stopped almost immediately. She showed no signs of the previous discomfort, and was able to eat and gain weight like she should. She is now six months old, and has been on Nutramigen for around the last four months or so. This stuff was truly a lifesaver for us.Nutramigen is significantly more expensive than most conventional formula, so I would not recommend it unless it is truly needed. If it is, though, it is worth every penny. We have also heard from the doctor that a lot of babies do not like the taste of it and will not eat it, but we have not had that issue at all. As always with something like this, your doctor's advice is much more important that that of a reviewer on Amazon. If your baby is suffering with any of the issues ours was, it may be something you should mention to them. Also, our doctor's office worked with us on trying to get our insurance to cover the cost of the formula. Our insurance company would not cover it unless there had actually been a test done showing an allergy to milk, but this may also be something to look into if you find yourself needing to switch to Nutramigen.

Smells terrible, ungodly cost, works great for baby!
This stuff smells terrible - as did the Enfamil infant formula we had our baby on. It's incredibly pricey, as was the infant formula. But as with the Enfamil infant formula, our baby does great on the Enfamil Nutramigen formula. He had a terrible raging/flaming/oozing diaper rash for two weeks. He had been on Gerber Good Start for 3 months - tastes and smells yummy, but caused spit ups, runny diapers, and likely contributed to the diaper rash. After 2 weeks of unbearable howling and sadness from our kiddo, we switched it all up. Changed to chlorine free wipes, chlorine free diapers, Aquaphor ointment, and Nutramigen formula. Voila - diaper rash noticeably improved in 24 hours, gone in 48 hours. Happy baby again! Our pediatrician we could start reintroducing Gerber an ounce at a time to see if we could switch him back. Tried introducing a few ounces over a couple of days, baby started spitting up again. So Nutramigen it is, even it takes the entire paycheck.

Baby loves it
Smells gross once mixed and heated. Taste bitter to me. Baby loves it and agrees with her sensitive stomach. Just wish the price was better. Sooooo expensive!! Tried 3 formulas then her pediatrician recommended trying this and we see a huge difference in her bm’s, gas, colic and overall attitude. For reference she started this at 2months and is currently 3mos and 3 wks old.

Worth the money!
My poor baby has an allergy to everything - including my breast milk! At 3 weeks of age my daughter started to have blood in her stool; she had always been a fussy baby, always had poop in her diaper, and spit-up constantly - being a 1st time mom, I chalked it up to "all babies must be this way." Boy was I wrong in my thinking! As soon as the blood appeared we got off breast milk and tried 8 different formulas (lactose free, partially broken down milk proteins, soy, etc.) the only formula my daughter could handle was Nutramigen. What a lifesaver!!! No more did I see blood and no more did my daughter have constant poops and spit-ups, and she wasn't nearly as fussy. Along the way we tried Alimentum (the Similac version of Nutramigen) and it was so stinky, and so vile, my daughter hated the taste; it even made my poor baby stinky because it seemed to ooze from her pores. Nutramigen itself smells like cheese, but at least my daughter doesn't stink. To top it all off, my baby is super healthy and thriving - she's in the 90th percentile for her age. I highly recommend Nutramigen... It is SO worth the price.
